Lucas in Brazil is a passionate boy who loves to move. Though he struggles with Cerebral Palsy, his heart is that of an athlete. He is happiest when given a physical challenge to overcome, and he grows quickly bored and restless when not moving. He has connected with a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who specializes in working with children with Special Needs and has shown his family and instructors that his doorway to movement is through sports and athleticism.
His mother, Erika, has learned now through Adapted Spiral Praxis that the power and intensity of sport can be brought into the home and her one on one therapy with him. With Yuji’s guidance, she is learning to challenge and stimulate Lucas’ passion and energy by working vigorously with him.
